Creative Critical reflection #4

For my camera I chose to use and iPhone XR. The settings i used were 4k camera quality and I used the camera at a little below half brightness. I used this to help stop the glare from all the stadium lights and would then edit the photo in camera settings to make the photo look more vibrant. The graphic design websites i chose to use to were photoshop and illustrator. On photoshop i had an easier time editing the pictures and on illustrator i had a way easier time laying out all of the pictures and text. The functions i used were lasso to get rid of items i didn't want in the photos and also used shapes to help improve the overall look of the magazine.

Creative Critical reflection #3

Throughout this process my production skills have immensely improved. When I first began i was very unfamiliar with photoshop and had trouble with many of the simple function. Now i understand many of the functions and can change many things without having to spend lots of time on it. Another thing that has improved was my camera skills. When i first began i was taking photos without adjusting the photos brightness and they would which ended up creating a glare from the lights on the pitch. I then leaned that the brightness of a photo can be adjusted and edited to make the colors more vibrant. Another skill i developed was also time management. Towards the beginning i kept on brushing stuff off like there was going to be plenty of time. I then realized that the amount of time it takes to photoshop and arrange the magazines is very time consuming and took as many pictures as possible to help the chances of taking a good photo. The last skill i gained was gathering the actors. Towards the beginning i was just capturing photos of the players playing on the pitch but then realized that it would be better to take a photo of the players on the side so that readers can see the faces of the players up close.

Creative Critical reflection #2

The magazines I researched are soccer, high school sports, and also sports magazines. Some of the magazines I took inspiration from are world soccer and winter high school sports 19-20. The world soccer magazine is a very popular soccer magazine and its main focus is soccer. The layout of the magazine takes up two pages with text surrounding the picture. The articles are about previous games that have occurred and information about upcoming games and famous players. The other article i took inspiration from was high school sports 19-20. This is a high schools magazine and informs all students and staff about events and sports games that are occurring. The magazine also shows each roster for all the teams at their schools. I plan to distribute my magazine both digitally and physically. We will continue to make more magazines the more people begin to purchase them but if they do not purchase enough we will stop making physical copies. There will also be an online subscription of $1.99 an month to help pay for the physical copies.

Creative Critical reflection #1

In my magazine I used mid shots to show the entire team and also show the surroundings their surroundings to give it a more natural feeling. The font I chose to use was Dubai font. This font is very easy to read and grabs the attention of readers. On the table of contents i used an orange font to help fit the overall theme of the magazine and to blend in with the bordering lines. During my photo shoots i captures action photos and photos of the team all standing together. All of the players were in uniform and on the field playing during the game. For the interview picture I took pictures of the players after the game while they were in uniform and asked them question about how they feel about soccer and what they wish to do in the future with soccer. For the layout of my magazine I chose a layout that helps the readers attention go towards the middle of the magazine where all the text with pictures above and below to help compliment it. The social group represented in my magazine is people in high school and athletes. The magazine has special issues about different high schools and all of the different sports they have available at their schools.
